Crete is a magical island filled with myth and legend, a place to relax the ideal choice for all the family.

The closest beach to the villa is Agios Pavlos beach, 6.4 km away from the villa. Agios Pavlos Sandhills beach which is considered as among one of the best in Crete. The warm waters are very inviting for a swim and it is quite common to see people in various states of beachwear or lack thereof owing to the area's relative seclusion and privacy offered by the coves around the beaches.

More beaches near the villa we suggest you to visit are :

- Triopetra beach (10.9 km): Triopetra consists mainly of two beaches, which are separated by a small peninsula. At the edge of the peninsula, in the sea, three majestic rocks rise. Triopetra is named after these rocks, since it means “Three Rocks”. On the beach there are a few rooms and taverns, and umbrellas are offered.

- Agia Galini beach (16.8 km): This resort is situated 58 km south of Rethymno. Apart from the plentiful tourist infrastructure the village also boasts beautiful and clean beaches, which are situated in various picturesque inlets in the area.

- Ligres beach (31.2 km): Ligres is a secluded beach, 45 minutes away from Rethymno. It is a beautiful sandy beach with a nudist area right in the end. Very nearby there are taverns where you can taste fresh fish of the area and local meals, and do not forget to visit the neighboring Agia Fotia beach with small tavern on the water.

- Preveli beach (41.6 km): 38 km south of Rethymno, shortly before you arrive at the historic Monastery of Preveli, a track on the left hand side leads downhill to a parking place. After approximately 15-minutes downhill walk you arrive at the beautiful sandy beach with palm trees, where the River Kourtaliotis empties into the sea.

- Matala beach (42.3 km): Matala is located at the exit of a small valley, which forms a large enclosed bay with nice view to the islands of Paximadia. The bay is a beautiful long sandy beach, 300m long, with fine gravel and crystal clear deep water. The beach is very well organized with umbrellas, toilets, showers, lifeguard, first aids, beach volley courts, snack bars, water sports, excursion boats, etc.

In addition the beaches of “Schinaria”, “Damnoni”, “Souda” and “Plakias" are only some of our suggestions which are located close! All the above beaches are organized but you can also easily find isolated beaches where you would be alone.
