The area around the villa

Our villa is located on a foothill of a mountain, in a traditional and peaceful village of Kato Saktouria in southern Crete, offering tremendous views of Libyan sea and surrounding mountains.

The area around the village is totally in nature and quiet and you will be able to relax and feel “away from it all” from the first moment of your arrival. It is one of the best locations if you seek to stay away from the tourist areas of Crete and also visit the amazing natural beaches of south Crete such as Agios Pavlos, Agia Galini, Triopetra and many more! One of the closest big village with range of amenities such as shops, bakeries, taverns and supermarkets is the picturesque fishing village of Agia Galini, around 15 minutes drive from the villa. Additionally the well known village of Spili which also has all the amenities and a health centre is located around 20 minutes drive away.

If you like adventure, the location also offers the advantage of exploring the unique natural environment of Crete’s inland. Explore the villages, interact with the locals, find taverns with real Cretan cuisine and products, walk in the gorges around or find some totally isolated beaches! We will be happy to make you suggestions and directions for places which only locals know about them.
